Cans For Comments
A couple of days ago I blogged about the day Christmas changed forever for me and how I felt challenged by God to do my part in helping others and sharing Christ's love with others. I've been praying about it a lot, about how or what exactly I could do. Where could I help? What could I do? Where could I give?
I came across this Cans for Comments idea today and knew it was something that I wanted to be part of.
This blog has become more than I thought it would be. Not only is it a great source for me to showcase my photography, but God is using it as a way for me to share my faith, to be real with my readers, and to challenge others in their faith. I don't take that lightly. This Cans for Comments project is perfect for me!
Here's how it works:
For EVERY comment that I get on my blog from today until Christmas Day (December 25, 2010) I will personally donate ONE can of food to my local Food Bank. So if you're a regular reader of my blog, or just stumbling across the blog for the first time, please take a moment to browse my posts and comment as much as you like!!! Seriously, don't hold back! It's a win-win situation. Not only do I get to read your lovely comments and get encouraged and motivated by them, but at the same time you're helping those in need that can't afford to buy food for themselves!!!
So I'm challenging you to comment comment comment!!!! Check out this blog to see which other Photographers are participating in Cans for Comments and comment on their blogs as well!
Thank you!!! Together we can help make a difference in people's lives!!
Edited to add: My friend, Dori, said she'd love to join me in this so for every comment we'll be donating TWO cans of food!

What a cool idea and an incredible ministry!
ReplyDeleteAwesome Vanessa! My school's photographer Audra is doing this too! The food bank is a charity that is close to my heart. We started with our wedding by donating to the food bank instead of giving wedding favours. We've kept this up with monthly donations since. Thanks so much for giving food!
ReplyDeletethanks for commenting!!! Carrie: That's awesome that you donated food in place of wedding favours! It's a small sacrifice but the rewards are far greater!
ReplyDeleteQuestion: Do you own comments count towards the cans?? ;)
ReplyDeletehaha good question! I don't know! I think it's maybe just other people's comments.
