The Wheels Are Turning

Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was fun, but it went by way too fast, as usual. On Saturday we hung out with some good friends of ours and I picked up a wedding dress for one of my summer sessions which I'm SO stoked about! I found this wedding dress on craigslist for pretty cheap so I bought it. Now I'm trying to get all my accessories together, which will include a birdcage veil (know of where I can find a free/cheap one???), and a headpiece/clip thing that I'll be making. Might throw some pearls in there yet, and maybe an umbrella. Who knows! We'll see where my imagination takes me!

I've been thinking about different types of shoots that I'd like to do, and I'm always open for a new idea so please feel free to comment with your million dollar idea! So far I've come up with a couple:

-I'd love to photograph a birth. Of a baby. That would be awesome. Having had a child myself I know how amazing/overwhelming/joyous/emotional/unbelievable/etc a birth is. I would love to capture those moments for a couple. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. A baby being born is the most miraculous thing ever!

-How awesome would it be to photograph a marriage proposal!!?? And right after she says yes (hopefully!) we'd shoot the engagement session. Pretty awesome, I think! I would be hiding nearby with my ultra zoom lens, capturing every candid moment as he asks "will you marry me?" and she says "YES!" and then the hugging and kissing and then I'd pop out of the trees in my camo outfit and start the engagement session! Just imagine the emotion in that couple's expressions at that moment. Pure. Love. Ahhhhh.

Those are the 2 that I've come up with for now. One day I would love to co-ordinate a bridal session with a bunch of people and try to get it in some wedding magazines or blogs or something. Oh, and ultimately I'd love to photograph a wedding! (And I'll reiterate that the first wedding I do will be totally FREE! The couple would just need to buy their own prints, but all the picture taking and editing and CD of images would be included for free!) I would even love to second shoot for a wedding. I love weddings, they never get old for me!

This is my Girlie when she was 6 weeks old. In 2 1/2 weeks she'll be 52 weeks old (ie: a year!) Where has time gone? I love how you can kind of see her mullet in this picture =)

Ok, that's all I'll ramble about today. Hopefully the weather will perk up a bit very soon so I can get some photo shoots in!

  1. I love the wedding proposal idea! I'm sure the couple would love having pictures of the big moment. I might even have some camo you can borrow! ha ha

  3. I'll convince Derek we should get married so you can shoot a wedding... and an engagement.... and then if we're quick enough you can do the birth too....
